1966 Volkswagen 21-Window Deluxe Bus

We recently received this 21-window bus to basically pull apart and redo the restoration. At first glance, the bus actually looks pretty nice, but the more you look it becomes apparent that someone just slapped it together. We will be pulling out all the lower windows to replace the lower part of the headliner, and also reseal all the windows while we’re at it. We are building a 2110cc engine for it, and also putting in a freeway flyer transmission.

The wiring in the bus is absolutely shot, so we’ll be putting in a new wiring harness and replacing all lights with good quality German parts. The bus also sits way too low for the customer, so we’ll be installing front and rear adjustable suspension and Porsche disc brakes by WagensWest.com. Check back soon as we will be updating this project as it moves along.
